How To Tie a Bowtie - 10 Easy Steps

We've had a lot of customers ask us how to tie a bowtie so just in case you can't make it to our store for an in-person tutorial we've made this video to make it super-easy for you to learn. Also, we've got step by step instructions just in case you need to reference back. Happy tying!

Step 1: Adjust the bowtie to corresponding neck size

Step 2: Wrap bowtie around neck with one side longer than the other.

Step 3: Wrap longer side over the shorter side and tie in a knot.

Step 4: Fold side that is naturally falling into a bow. Using a "pulling motion" so that the folded material is on the same side as the other side of the bowtie.

Step 5: Allow longer side to fall through the middle.

Step 6: Pinch bow together and pull away from neck to make hole in knot more visible.

Step 7: Pinch falling piece from back and shove through the hole so that the pinched side is on the opposite of the fold in the front piece.

Step 8: Adjust knot so that it lays flat.

Step 9: Pull fold in front and fold in back in opposite direction to tighten bowtie.

Step 10: Adjust bowtie so that sides are even. Adjust one side at time by holding knot.
